A Special Announcement
Alan Brown, currently Carmarthen County Bowling Association Hon Secretary, Hon Treasurer and Commercial Secretary, announced that he will be standing down from these positions at the Annual General Meeting in December 2016. He is willing to help in the capacity as an External Accountant for the incoming Hon Treasurer to present.
Alan has served our County brilliantly since 2007. His clear guidance over the years has been invaluable, and his attendance at County Matches will be greatly missed by Team Managers and players alike. He leaves vacant chairs at the top table which will be massive ones to fill.
In his message of intent to stand down, Alan revealed that there is no political reason why he has made his difficult decision, he says he loved carrying out his work with the County, but he felt it was time to finish. He can now devote more time to his beloved family.
I’m sure everyone in the community of bowls will want to join with me in thanking Alan for his valuable services to our Association, and may he enjoy his time away from County Administration.
Thank you Alan.
2016 Premier Division Champions
Due to a long and very nearly successful Carruthers Shield Campaign, Kidwelly found themselves in a tortoise and hare race, chasing last years winners Parc-y-Dre for the Premier Division Title.
Parc-y-Dre, who completed their season early, had to sit and suffer in silence as Kidwelly ate away a convincing lead. Needing just 1 point in their last game, the Black Cats went out in style as they took all 14 points against Gorseinon.
Kidwelly had a very realistic chance of winning in the 2015 season, but somehow managed to lose 4 out of their last 5 matches, a disappointing end to what was a promising season. This year, they made no mistakes and won their last 7 matches with an average of almost 13 points a game.
The Kidwelly Team will be the team to beat next season. They will not be letting go of the Premier Division title in a hurry.
Relegated are Blue Anchor and Gorseinon

The First Division was won by Loughor BC by a staggering 33 points over second place Pontarddulais. Loughor will be a strong force to be reckoned with in the Premier Division next year.
Relegated are Dafen Welfare Crusaders and New Lodge.
The Second Division was won by Calsonic Wanderers, 27 points clear of their stable-mates Tumble.
